The Story Of My Life

That's right...two posts in two days. What the hell is that all about. Oh right, it's better than work is what it's all about.

I came across this and found out that I am well on my way towards becoming a premier dilettante. Only one more language to go and National Guard service (though I don't think that would work out anymore).

I don’t know if you know what a dilettante is so here’s an explanation:

dil·et·tante (dĭl'ĭ-tänt', dĭl'ĭ-tänt', -tän'tē, -tănt', -tăn'tē) n., pl. -tantes also -tan·ti (-tän'tē, -tăn'-).
A dabbler in an art or a field of knowledge. See synonyms at amateur.
A lover of the fine arts; a connoisseur.

It doesn’t seem so bad here but the term is usually pejorative (bad intent) and means someone who “knows” a little about a lot but not a lot about anything. Seen as too lazy or lacking the fortitude to gain in-depth knowledge.
